Coding is now an integral part of our life, and in the near the future every sector will utilise some sort of software. And this week its National Coding Week, so we have put together some facts below:
There are over 700 coding languages
Amongst this list, some of the most popular languages are Javascript, Swift, Scala, Python, PHP, Go, Rust, Ruby, and C#. However, new programming languages are constantly being created.
Programming was first developed in 1883
Created by Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage collaborated on the Analytical Engine, a primitive mechanical computer.
Python was named after Monty Python, not after the snake
Guido Van Rossum – the programmer that invented Python was reading the published scripts from “Monty Python’s Flying Circus”, a BBC comedy series from the 1970s, and thought he needed a name that was short, unique and slightly mysterious.

On September 9, 1947, a team of computer scientists reported the world’s first computer bug— a moth trapped in their computer at Harvard University.
